5.0 Advanced Meters
NMI Approvals
To maintain NMI approvals, Fuellox shall not operate as the billing provider. Utilise the normal fuel resale capabilities of your Meter and Printer to ensure compliance with regulations.
5.1 LCR IQ Meter Register
LCR Meters are a powerful tool for bulk fuel handling and complex resale environments.
Fuellox combines to provide a simple digital foot print from the LC Meter, combining advanced fleet identificaiton, location tracking, and reporitng options for the operator.
5.1.1 Wiring
Wire | LCRIQ | Fuellox | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
24V + | Pin 3 : J1-3 12-24 | J9-2 +VBAT | |
24V - | Pin 2 : J1-2 GND | J9-1 GND | |
Pulse signal | Pin 52 : Aux Output | J18-3 Pulse Signal | |
Pulse 0V | Pin 47 : Common 0V | J18-4 Pulse 0v |
5.1.2 Fuellox Bypass
Where a bypass circuit is required with the Fuellox a captured key bypass should be configured to close the logic gate provided by Fuellox.
Do not close the relay with power, or a permanent hot relay scenario may lead to a failed relay and the inability to bypass.
5.1.3 LC Meter Setup
- Configure the fluid as per the OEM manual
- Configure the register to suit the meter as per the OEM manual
- Make the following settings on the meter in the Calibration Menu
LC Menu: Calibration (2/4)
Item | Value | Note |
---|---|---|
Pulse Output Frequency | 20 | 1 |
Auxillary Output | Calibrated Scale Output | - |
Set the scaled pulse out put to as large a number as possible. A value of 20 will produce 20 pulses per Litre. The higher the number the more accurate the reading between the Fuellox and LC Meter will be.
Note 1
The options for the Pulse Output Frequency are determined by the system configuration and meters parameters for Pulses/Liter. If this number is changed, the Fuellox PPL calibration must also be updated. Recalibrate the Fuellox from the normal menu options, or call the helpdesk.
5.1.4 Pump Start and Control
When the LC Meter starts the pump there is a signal to ground. For Fuellox to control the pump start/stop an additional relay is required. When Fuellox authorises the pump it sets its Relay 1&2
on. That circuit powers the external relay to create an additional logic control to the LC Meters normal start.
Typical Automotive Relay
Relay | Desc | Fuellox | LCR iQ |
---|---|---|---|
85 | Coil In | J12-4 Relay 1 +VBAT | None |
86 | Coil Out | J12-3 Relay 1 0V | None |
30 | Supply Power | None | Pump Active Line |
87 | NC Switching | None | Pump Active Line |
87a Optional | NO Switching | None | None |

5.1.5 Calibration
Be sure to have the meter calibrated by a certified provider after the Fuellox unit is operational.
Make a note of the value set for Pulse Output Frequency and ensure that is applied to the Fuellox Device Calibration also.
5.1.6 Operation
- Press Start on the LCR IQ Meter
- Select the fleet equipment in the Fuellox app
- Fuellox shall auto connect the app to the controller
- Press Start in the Fuellox App
- Flow shall commence
- Press stop in the Fuellox app
- Continue to top up fleet from the Fuellox app
- When the sale is completed, press Stop on the LC Register
- The register will show the total for the transaction
- Fuellox will record multiple fleet dispense transactions
5.1.7 Limitations
- Should the LC Meter rotate in reverse Fuellox will not detect a reversal of flow. For example should the meter complete dispensing to 50.1, then reverse to 50.0, Fuellox will see the -1L as positive flow and result in 50.2L
- Fuellox is not for use with hazardous liquids or in hazardous areas
5.1.8 Suggestions
- Be sure to set a suitable timeout on the LC for the transaction auto shut off
- Use the maximum whole number possible for the Pulse Output Frequency
- Set the Fuellox device precision to match the registers precision (single unit, tenths, hundredths etc)
- Utilise sufficiently screened wiring for pulse signals
